3) India have won their first medal at the Tokyo Olympics. And it's courtesy India's star weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, who has won the silver in the women's 49kg category.
➨ This is India's second weightlifting medal at the Olympics overall, after Karnam Malleswari, who won the bronze at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Mirabai, with this has also become overall the 17th individual Olympic medallist from India (from 1900 to 2021).

4) The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, who is the visitor to central universities, has approved the appointment of vice chancellors in 12 University.

5) Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is coming up with his autobiography, The Stranger In The Mirror.
➨ Published by Rupa Publications, the book will hit the stands across the country on July 27.
➨ Ad maker-turned-director Mehra, known for helming movies like Rang De Basanti, Delhi-6, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and the recently released Toofan. He has co-written the book with noted author Reeta Ramamurthy Gupta.

6) Magma Fincorp Limited, a RBI-registered non-banking finance company (NBFC) has been rechristened as Poonawalla Fincorp Limited and has initiated rebranding activity, following the acquisition of controlling stake by Adar Poonawalla led Rising Sun Holdings Private Limited.

7) The Chaurasi Kosi Parikrama Marg in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh has been declared a National Highway.
➨In a bid to make UP the biggest religious tourist destination in the country, work is underway. Gadkari informed that about 80 km of Ring Road in Ayodhya and 275 km of Ayodhya Chaurasi Kosi Parikrama Marg will be made National Highway.

9) Young Indian wrestler Tannu sealed the crown in a dominant fashion, grabbing the 43kg title without conceding a single point as the country's spectacular run continued at the Cadet World Championship.
➨ Tannu is third Indian to emerge world champion at this event, where Aman Gulia (48kg) and Sagar Jaglan (80kg) took titles in men's freestyle competition to propel India to the Team championship title for the first time in the history.

10) India grappler Priya Malik clinched gold at the World Cadet Wrestling Championships.
➨ Malik defeated Kseniya Patapovich 5-0 in the summit clash and as a result, she won a gold medal at the World Cadet Championships in Hungary.

11) Xilingol League, north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, became the country’s first green sheep-farming city thanks to its efforts in grassland ecological protection and green sheep farming. The honor was rolled out by China Meat Association during a summit on green sheep farming held in Xilinhot.

12) India celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26 every year to mark the anniversary of the Indian Army's victory against Pakistan on this day in 1999, after more than 60 days of armed conflict on the highlands of Kargil in Ladakh.
➨President Ram Nath Kovind is scheduled to visit Drass on Monday to pay homage at the memorial, located on the foothills of Tololing. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat will also participate at the Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations.

13) Indian Railways' South Western Railway(SWR) zone has paid a unique tribute to the former president and 'Missile Man of India' Dr. Abdul Kalam.
➨ The Bengaluru division of SWR has installed a 7.8 ft high and 800 kg statue of Dr. Abdul Kalam at YPR Coaching Depot. The bust of Dr. Abdul Kalam has been made entirely of scrap material.

14) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flagged-in the Indian Army’s skiing expedition that was conducted in the Himalayan mountain ranges between March 10 and July 6.
➨ The expedition, called ARMEX-21, was flagged off at Karakoram Pass in Ladakh on March 10 and culminated at Malari in Uttarakhand on July 6 covering 1,660 km in 119 days.

15) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with Governor Anandi Ben Patel, launched the “Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Bal Sewa Yojna” at a function in Lok Bhawan.

16) Atal Innovation Mission revealed the top 300 teams of the ATL Marathon 2020. Over a thousand Atal Tinkering Labs took part in the marathon.
 ➨ This year, Atal Innovation Mission had received almost five times as many submissions as compared to previous years.
➨ ATL Marathon 2020 witnessed over 7200 innovations from 32 states and 324 districts.

19) Indian Navy participated in a two-day bilateral Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with Royal Navy Carrier Strike Group (CSG)-21 led by HMS Queen Elizabeth in the Bay of Bengal from 21 to 22 July 2021.
