1) The Harappan city of Dholavira, in present-day Gujarat, was named the 40th Indian site on UNESCO’s World Heritage list.
➨ UNESCO’s announcement came just days after another site, Ramappa Temple in Telangana, was admitted to the list.
➨The ancient city of Dholavira is one of the most remarkable and well-preserved urban settlements in South Asia dating from the 3rd to mid-2nd millennium BCE (Before Common Era). Discovered in 1968, the site is set apart by its unique characteristics, such as its water management system, multi-layered defensive mechanisms, extensive use of stone in construction and special burial structures.

2) Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Mawiong, Meghalaya.
➨ It will improve road connectivity of northeast and will make the region an 'economic hub'.

3) Arunachal Pradesh government has inked an agreement with the Indian Institute of Management Shillong here to foster better financial and policy management aimed at improving livelihoods.

4) Runaya, a metals startup founded by brothers Annanya and Naivedya Agarwal announced the commencement of its aluminium dross processing and refining unit in Jharsuguda in Odisha.
➨The facility is said to provide end-to-end green and sustainable solutions for the recovery of aluminium from dross and processing residual waste to manufacture steel slag conditioners.

5) Chief Minsiter Yogi Adityanath laid foundation stone of 16 projects of Rs 187.51 crore including Rs 154 crore project of Sainik School at Fertilizer plant campus in Gorakhpur.
➨The Centre has proposed to open 100 new Sainik Schools in the country in Union budget and the state government is working on opening Sainik School in each comissionary.

6) The book titled, 'Shifting Orbits: Decoding the Trajectory of the Indian Start-up Ecosystem', co-edited by Professor Rohan Chinchwadkar, a finance professor at the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management at IIT Bombay, was launched yesterday evening by Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog.

7) Philippines – Filipino farmers will become the first in the world to be able to cultivate a variety of rice enriched with nutrients to help reduce childhood malnutrition, after receiving the green light from regulators.
➨Golden Rice was developed by the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rice Research Institute (DA-PhilRice) in partnership with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) to contain additional levels of beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A.

8) President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated a new branch of State Bank of India (SBI) at the President''s Estate.

➨ Piezoelectric crystals are a class of materials that generate electricity when it undergoes a mechanical impact.

10) The Delhi government will give a ‘Samman Rashi’ of ₹1 crore each to the families of six “bravehearts of Delhi” who lost their lives in the line of duty.
➨ A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the Delhi Cabinet. The Revenue Department proposed to provide ex-gratia, which was approved by the Cabinet on the instructions of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

11) A course on disaster management will be taught as a compulsory subject during the first year at colleges in Odisha.
➨ The move comes after the Odisha government had decided on May 29 to include disaster and pandemic management in high school and college curricula.

12) World No. 1 para shuttler Pramod Bhagat was named Differently Abled Sportsman of the Year at Indian Sports Honour for 2019.The delay in announcement was due to COVID-19 pandemic.
