The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has decided to establish 1,000 Khelo India centres across the country out of which 360 centres have already been notified.
➨Athletes are being selected under Khelo India scheme and will be provided with an annual financial assistance of Rs 6.28 lakh.
➨ He informed 236 sports academies are being accredited across the country under the "Support to National, Regional, State Sports Academies".

1) Odisha's Bhubaneswar has become the first city in India to achieve 100 per cent vaccination coverage against Covid-19. Additionally, about one lakh migrant workers have also been administered the first dose of Covid vaccines in the capital city of Odisha.

2) DXC Technology and Nasscom Foundation have jointly launched the Employability Skills Programme to train 7,500 underserved students in new-age technologies.
➨ The programme will train students from over 35 tier-2 and tier-3 technical and non-technical colleges in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

3) Deepak Das, a 1986-batch Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer, is appointed by the Government of India as the Controller General of Accounts (CGA), Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
➨ Das is the 25th officer to hold the position of CGA.

4) Having vaccinated 5.17 lakh people in every 10-lakh population, Gujarat has bagged the top position in the country in terms of vaccinations per million people. Gujarat has so far administered 3,32,65,975 doses of vaccines as a preventive step against coronavirus, as part of the intensive statewide drive till July 31, 2021, including 75 lakh vaccinations in the month of July alone.

5) A hotline has been set up between the Indian and Chinese armies in the North Sikkim sector to further boost confidence along the Line of Actual Control in the region.
➨The hotline is between the Indian Army in Kongra La, North Sikkim and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) at Khamba Dzong in Tibetan Autonomous Region.

6) Maharashtra has reported its first case of Zika virus in Belsar village in Purandar taluka of Pune district. 
➨ A 50-year-old woman, developed fever earlier this month but has now recovered completely. No one in her family has shown any symptoms of the disease.

7) Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of Rs 150 crore Vindhyachal Corridor Project (VCP) in Mirzapur.

11) The Bihar assembly passed a Bill to establish the first sports university of the state, where one-third of the seats will be reserved for women.
